The ideal candidate will provide administrative support to the Athletics Director, as well as multiple sports teams, staff, faculty and other members of the department as needed. This position will also serve as the team travel coordinator assisting with maintaining athletic event master schedules and disseminating information to other departments as necessary. The administrative assistant must have the ability to maintain confidentiality, coordinate several projects simultaneously, and demonstrate a high level of organization and coordination, while prioritizing accordingly. The position calls for an individual who is able to be flexible, work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, while providing excellent customer service. This position will support in maintaining and processing all budgetary information, depositing and reconciling of monies received, and maintaining inventory and order/purchase of office supplies. They will prepare and process payroll for part-time employees; maintain office files and databases; and gather information and compile financial reports. This individual will schedule and supervise the college buses, assist with planning and preparation for events, as well as handle day-to-day tasks of answering phones, greeting visitors, and providing information as necessary. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of PSU policies and systems (Microsoft 360, IBIS, ERS and LionPath) is preferred. The ideal candidate for this position will possess a “can-do” attitude and a willingness to be committed to Intercollegiate Athletics, higher education, and Penn State Altoona. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
