The Departments of Communication Arts and Sciences, Philosophy, and Applied Linguistics in the College of the Liberal Arts are seeking qualified applicants for an Administrative Support Coordinator that serves as the Events Manager. The successful candidate will plan, publicize, and coordinate all public events which are not limited to: colloquium, symposiums, visiting speakers, receptions, luncheons, workshops, awards programs, and social events for the three departments, including long term planning and programming, invitations, catering, seating charts, materials, agendas, travel coordination, and post-event paperwork processing. The successful candidate will also supervise the Event Assistant, which includes assigning event-related tasks and providing support and direction for this position as it relates to events. The successful candidate will serve as the Alumni Relations Office liaison, working with department heads and the Alumni Relations Office. We are looking for an excellent writer and editor who is able to act independently, negotiate, and advocate for the departments in a variety of situations. Strong interpersonal, supervisory, problem solving and organizational skills as well as the ability to foster the development of excellence, professionalism, diversity, and customer service within the units are required. We are committed to providing professional development to our staff members. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of University policies and procedures preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Powerpoint, Excel) preferred. Excellent communication skills (including good grammar, spelling, and word usage), attention to detail and accuracy, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong commitment to teamwork required.
