Description

The Communications, Information and Navigation Office (CINO) within the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State University is seeking an Integrated Security Specialist to join their team in their Reston, VA location. Responsibilities include: Maintain multiple document control databases and verification of reproduction, distribution, destruction, and receipt records; prepare security forms for personnel submitted to research sponsors including initial submission, debriefs, and periodic reinvestigations; provide visitor control, verify current visit requests, and check visitor identification; monitor visit certification requests for individuals traveling to or from government or contractor facilities; process personnel foreign travel/foreign contact forms; provide facility security response support; and oversee periodic security inspections. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Previous experience with government security policies, automated information systems security, physical security and personnel security is preferred. Experience in industrial security is required. Excellent interpersonal skills, to include oral and written communication skills, is necessary. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation.
