The Department of Communication Arts and Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor for Fall and Spring semester of the 2019-2020 academic year. We are seeking candidates whose expertise focuses on rhetoric and popular culture, gender and communication, and feminist rhetoric. The successful applicant will participate in the intellectual life of the department and teach three courses per semester. Possible classes include effective speech, rhetoric and civic life, gender and communication, rhetorical theory, and/or an undergraduate seminar in the individual’s area of expertise. A terminal degree in a related field is required. Applications must be submitted electronically and include a letter of application describing areas of expertise and teaching experience, along with a CV, and evidence of teaching excellence. Applicants should also identify three or more references, who may be contacted to provide letters of recommendation. The start date for the position for fall semester is August, 2019; participation in orientation activities the week prior to the start of the semester is expected.
