Description

Penn State Brandywine, located in Media, PA, seeks part-time, non-tenure track, Nutrition Instructor(s). NUTR 251 Introductory Principles of Nutrition is a 3-credit course designed for nutrition majors and non-majors to provide a broad understanding of general principles of nutrition. Concepts covered include the essential nutrients, digestion, absorption, transport, and food sources, as well as major health issues related to some nutrients. Of major importance to students` lives are health and nutrition implications of overweight and obesity, heart disease, diabetes, bone health, and energy balance as affected by diet and physical activity. Lastly, understanding of nutritional needs throughout the life span is introduced. Candidates should also have demonstrated the promise of excellence in their teaching. A minimum of a Master’s degree is required.
