Description

This position is responsible for technical and logistical support to the Agricultural Safety and Health extension team by assisting with various needs of the Agricultural Rescue and Agricultural Safety programs. Duties will include scheduling and promoting training classes, assisting with training aid maintenance, and review and delivery of Ag Rescue and Ag Safety outreach and development. Other duties will include assisting with the logistics of Ag Rescue equipment and classes. Candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage and meet deadlines effectively. Ability to work with diverse audiences and provide excellent customer service. This position requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle, work selected weekends, and work outside and in a shop environment at times. Must have a valid driver’s license. Since this position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job duties, successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Associate Degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Candidates must be willing to work flexible hours. The preferred candidate will have a background in agricultural operations and equipment. Additionally, experience with fire/rescue operations is preferred. Effectiveness to work independently and as a team is required. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with an excellent possibility of re-funding. This is a 75% full-time equivalency (FTE) job. The selected individual will work 30 hours per week. Full Penn State benefits included.
