The Forensic Science Program (FSP) at The Pennsylvania State University, located at University Park, PA, is seeking a part-time Researcher with molecular biology background, particularly in sequencing DNA from fingerprint developed through columnar-thin-film deposition. This position is funded via a grant from National Institute of Justice. The candidate should have a strong molecular biology background and/or demonstrable success in sequencing of DNA using the next generation sequencers/massive parallel sequencing. The candidate must be capable of depositing nanoscale thin films using thermal evaporation in a vacuum chamber. Prior experience with fingerprint development is highly desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of sequencing using automated sequencer and fingerprint technology.
