The Department of Health Policy and Administration (HPA) in the College of Health and Human Development is seeking an Administrative Support Coordinator to be responsible to the department head for managing the daily operations of the department. Hire, supervise, train and evaluate support staff. Oversee operational and administrative processes and monitor deadlines. Review office operations and lead efforts to maintain productive teamwork and a positive culture. Coordinate the collection and presentation of data for various reports and in support of the Department’s strategic planning process. Handle confidential materials. Provide support to the department head. Responsibilities may include: coordination, either directly or through appropriate delegation, the following: staff support for departmental committees; promotion and tenure documentation preparation; faculty travel arrangements and reimbursements; sabbatical leave requests and international programs; preparing and processing human resources forms for new and existing employees; and/or serving as facilities contact for building, office move coordination, and technology. This position may work closely with faculty and staff from the Pennsylvania Office of Rural Health (PORH) and the Center for Health Care and Policy Research (CHCPR) on various matters. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates with demonstrated supervisory or management experience are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of University policies and procedures related to academic administration, financial, and human resources is preferred. Experience with eSteward, LionPath, IBIS, EIS, ERS, and Workday, is desired. The successful candidate must have excellent communication (both written and verbal), organizational and problem-solving skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
