Description

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Continuing Education is seeking a Part-Time Math and Part-Time Reading/Writing Instructor for our SAT Prep Courses. We are looking for an experienced educator, who can connect with students, to aid them in learning Math concepts in order to increase their abilities to do well on the SAT® exam and we are looking for an experienced educator, who can connect with students, to aid them in learning reading and grammatical concepts in order to increase their abilities to do well on the SAT® exam. Applicants must have knowledge of test taking skills and SAT content, skills, and subjects to provide instruction. Penn State Wilkes-Barre Continuing Education offers four SAT Prep Courses starting in August 2019 through April 2020. The sessions are offering during the evening hours or on Saturdays. Each session meets once a week for 3 hours for 7 weeks (21 hours). Applicants are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or higher and experience in educating high school students in Math and Reading and Writing. The Pennsylvania Child Protective Services Law and Penn State requires employees who have contact with children in youth programs sponsored by Penn State to obtain the following background clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check (SP4-164), PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form (CY-113), Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check (Criminal History Report). Instructors must also successfully complete a Penn State online course entitled “Reporting Child Abuse Training.” This is a part-time, non benefit position.
