Description

This position supports academic courses and professional development services of the Professional Personnel Development Center for Career and Technical Education (PPDC), enabling students to earn and maintain certifications to teach or administer PA technical schools. The position will modify courses to create high quality, interactive, accessible learning experiences via hybrid and online course delivery. The Instructional Designer will collaborate with the course instructors and PPDC Associate Director to develop appropriate strategies utilizing accepted instructional principles and current instructional technologies and will educate and support course instructors on how to use the instructional technologies. The successful candidate will: collaborate with the course instructors and PPDC Associate Director to develop, deliver, and evaluate appropriate strategies utilizing accepted instructional principles and current instructional technologies; collaborate with the instructors of non-credit, professional development programming (workshops, seminars, etc.) to create and evaluate computer-based learning experiences and resources; provide technical guidance to instructors and staff on how to use appropriate instructional technologies; and stay up-to-date on instructional technologies appropriate for teacher education and on Penn State Information Technology applications and systems. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
