The Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence (CGNE) at the Penn State College of Nursing seeks candidates for the position of Education Program Assistant 2. The primary duties for this position include direct support for the CGNE Director, Administrator and Community Liaison, and leadership team members in order to implement our center’s vision and strategic plan. This involves various administrative duties and functions, including: coordinating CGNE meetings with internal and external partners; collecting data and drafting spreadsheets and reports; creating and maintaining office and Box files; submitting all purchases and travel expenditures for the CGNE through the University’s ERS system; working in coordination with the Administrator to manage budgets in accordance with our strategic plan, and individual programs/projects; managing office supplies and resources; reserving rooms, ensuring computer access, and IT equipment/services as necessary; preparing sponsorship and other related materials for clinical partnerships and community outreach activities. This position assists with creative program development, implementation, and evaluation of a wide variety of educational programs and related materials for our center’s educational, research, and translational initiatives and non-credit continuing education programs. The Education Program Assistant will create and distribute announcements; coordinate and support logistics; and assist Administrator with development of visual and written program materials as well as facilitation of events. This position is involved with the College’s Marketing, Media, and Communications team to advertise programs and maintain the CGNE website. The CGNE EPA collaborates with the Outreach Office to submit CNE applications; obtain attendance records and evaluations of educational events; submit summative reports; facilitate awarding of certificates; and assure compliance with PSNA standards. In addition, this position requires attendance and travel at center events and/or outreach activities, to promote our Center and College in coordination with community and clinical partnerships, including those occasionally held on nights and weekends. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Power Point, Survey tools, and Program Registration and Tracking portals is preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication, self-management and organizational skills, accurate record keeping, and ability to maintain confidentiality are essential. Work site is University Park, PA. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
