Chair, Neural and Behavioral Sciences: The College of Medicine (COM) of The Pennsylvania State University invites applications and nominations of outstanding candidates for the Chair of the Department of Neural and Behavioral Sciences (NBS). We are interested in recruiting a dynamic and internationally recognized scientist with a record of sustained grant support in an area of neuroscience, and preferably, leadership experience in an academic department or institution. The Department is currently comprised of 20 full time faculty of which 11 are tenured and 5 are on tenure track. Their research interests include; cellular and molecular neuroscience, systems neuroscience, electrophysiology, and addiction research, incorporating active and translational collaborations with other clinical and basic science departments. Our expectation is that the new chair will have a vision for the department compatible with the educational mission of the Neuroscience program and other educational programs within the COM, and will play a leadership role in educating an outstanding group of medical and graduate students. NBS is an integral part of a large, vibrant academic health center which includes the Penn State Milton S.
