The Office of Student Activities is seeking diverse and culturally competent candidates to cultivate student learning by fostering exploration, community engagement and development through educational and experiential opportunities. The Program Coordinator will work actively along with the Student Activities team in creating a culture of inclusion and respect. The Program Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director for Student Organizations in the Office of Student Activities. This position will serve on a collaborative team to coordinate programs, develop student leaders and engage in outreach efforts for over 1000 recognized student organizations. They will assist student organizations with their programming efforts on campus and issue contracts when required. The Program Coordinator will serve as an advisor to the University Park Allocation Committee (UPAC), an affiliate student organization that objectively allocates a portion of the student initiated fee to recognized student organizations, provide day-to-day oversight for the organization, and supervise a graduate assistant. The Program Coordinator will also serve on various committees and coordinate activities that promote unity among all Penn State campuses throughout the Commonwealth such as assisting with the All-University Football Game. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will exhibit cultural curiosity and self-awareness. We are also seeking an individual who can demonstrate strong knowledge of facilitation, program planning, communication, advising skills, and risk assessment. This position may require that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check may be required in addition to standard background checks. The Program Coordinator must be willing to work flexible hours as night and weekend activities are required.
