Description

The Associate CIO for Administration is seeking two Project Managers to join a highly successful project management team supporting Finance and Business. The Project Manager (PM) will work as part of a virtual PMO (vPMO) supporting a variety of business and IT units. The IT projects are most often internal to Finance and Business IT and require close coordination with Enterprise IT and the Office of Information Security and may require significant vendor interaction. Projects typically incorporate the review and modification of existing business processes and therefore require effective integration of organizational change management techniques and resources. The PM must be able to manage projects across business and technology domains and use appropriate project methodologies (agile, waterfall, etc.) as needed. The PM’s must be able to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders under difficult time constraints. Therefore, the PM’s require excellent communication, influence, analytical, and problem-solving skills to orchestrate successful project teams under these conditions. The PM will work with business analysts, business relationship managers, and organizational change management professionals. The PM will have the opportunity to be a change agent within a transforming organization. The PM’s will contribute to improving the project, portfolio, and resource management capabilities of the vPMO and the units it supports as well as contributing to the university-level transformation initiatives. The Pennsylvania State University is committed to and accountable for advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in all of its forms. We embrace individual uniqueness, foster a culture of inclusive excellence that supports both broad and specific diversity initiatives, leverage the educational and institutional benefits of diversity, and engage all individuals to help them thrive. We value inclusive excellence as a core strength and an essential element of our public service mission. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. PMP certification is highly desired. Experience with a PMIS (e.g. Workfront) is preferred. Relevant private and public sector experience is welcome. Experience with portfolio and resource management is a plus. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
