Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus has an immediate opening for a Student Health Services Nurse. The position is responsible to the Director of Student Affairs for the following: providing quality nursing services and health education programs to patients; assisting physician with exams, treatments, and procedures; maintaining clinic statistics, and medication inventory; interviewing, assessing, and treating patients by protocols, and assisting with patient triage and problem solving; rendering emergency care as indicated by protocol. The Campus Nurse will assist in developing and managing budgets; developing, conducting and analyzing quality improvement initiatives; planning, delivering and evaluating educational programming; developing and implementing policies and procedures; assisting in developing, implementing and evaluating unit strategic plan; includes serving as a resource for patients, providing sound interpretation and application of professional standards of practice and overall adherence to policies, procedures and protocols. The nurse collaborates with campus student affairs staff, faculty and other departmental staff to develop and sponsor numerous health and wellness educational programs for the campus community. In addition, the nurse will serve as the campus Disability Services Coordinator, a member of the Behavioral Threat Management Team, a member of the Care and Concern Team, and serve on various campus committees. Located in southwestern Pennsylvania, Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus is part of a multi-campus public research university enjoying a world-wide reputation for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. Requires graduation from accredited nursing program (Bachelor’s degree preferred). Two years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in an ambulatory health care or emergency care setting is highly desirable. Some evenings and weekends may be required. Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding. This is a 75% full-time equivalency (FTE) job. The position will work 30 hours per week, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Full Penn State benefits included.
