Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus and the Penn State College of Nursing invites applications for Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor in Nursing, (fixed-term, one-year appointment with option for renewal, 36 weeks) to begin August 2019. Responsibilities: Teach courses in subjects such as mental health and medical-surgical in a variety of settings including simulation, clinical, and classroom teaching. Participate in course, curriculum, and program development. Advise students and provide career guidance. Participate in campus, university, and community service activities. Engage in scholarship to stay current in the discipline. Some of these duties may require teaching day, evening and/or Saturday classes or attending an occasional weekend event, as needed. Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Nursing required but will consider MSN with completion of doctorate within five (5) years of hire. Master’s degree in Nursing Education and prior teaching experience is strongly preferred. All applicants must be eligible for licensure as RN in Pennsylvania. Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is desired. Interest in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online teaching is an advantage. Prior college-level and online teaching experience preferred. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important.
