Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus seeks candidates for a Lecturer (master level) or Teaching Assistant Professor (doctoral level) position in Corporate Communication. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track, fixed-term appointment. The initial appointment is for the 2019-21 academic years (36 weeks each), teaching 12 credit hours per semester, and may be renewed. Responsibilities include teaching 4 courses (12 credits) each semester related to public speaking, leadership, and corporate communication (organizational communication, marketing communication, public relations, government relations, nonprofit relations and media relations). The successful candidate will participate in teaching development, advise students and provide career guidance, participate in campus, university, and community service, and demonstrate scholarly currency in Corporate Communication. Employment will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. Qualifications include minimum of a Master’s degree in Corporate Communication or a closely-related discipline. Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is expected. Prior college-level and online teaching experience preferred as is an interest in active and collaborative learning and the instructional use of technology. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important. Teaching assignments may require teaching day, evening and/or Saturday classes as needed. Students and faculty at Penn State Fayette have all of the resources of a major research university at their disposal, but in a small college atmosphere with a low student/faculty ratio that facilitates mentorship and individualized attention.
