The College of the Liberal Arts is seeking qualified applicants for an Administrative Support Coordinator. This position will serve as Events Manager and provide administrative support for the Office of the Dean of the College of the Liberal Arts. The successful candidate will plan, publicize and coordinate all receptions, luncheons, workshops, awards programs, and social events for the Office of the Dean, including programming, invitations, catering, script writing and editing, seating charts, materials, agendas, and displays. The successful candidate will also prepare, control, and manage the events budget, and evaluate the effectiveness of all activities. Other duties include maintaining confidential electronic filing and software systems; coordinating the college’s staff scholarship process; managing calendars, and schedules; supervising staff; solving problems; approving completed work; and coordinating the day-to-day operations and administrative activity of the office to ensure that priorities are established and deadlines are met. The successful candidate will serve as primary backup for the College's Office Manager performing the same duties in her absence. We are looking for an excellent writer and editor who is able to act independently, negotiate, and advocate for the College in a variety of situations. Strong interpersonal, supervisory, problem solving and organizational skills as well as the ability to foster the development of excellence, professionalism, diversity, and customer service within the College are required. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of University policies and procedures preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Powerpoint, Excel) preferred. Excellent communication skills (including good grammar, spelling, and word usage), attention to detail and accuracy, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong commitment to teamwork required.
