Outreach and Online Education Marketing’s Web Strategy and Development team is looking for a programmer to work on our fast-growing and award winning World Campus website, as well as other Outreach sites and projects. Responsibilities include working with our team of developers on all facets of web development, including building upon, managing, testing, and continually improving the World Campus website, as well other sites managed in Drupal and Wordpress by Outreach and Online Education. The developer should be comfortable working as a part of a team, and want to learn and master new skills, as well as teach others on the team the skills they’ve mastered. Being able to communicate specialized details to non-specialized groups is important in order to collaborate effectively. The developer will need to be comfortable handling several projects at once, and act responsibly with FERPA data. Outreach Marketing is a friendly and supportive environment that is driven by deadlines and serious business goals, and the ideal candidate will be able to thrive in this situation. This job will be filled as a level 2. Competencies critical to success are: proven ability to plan and meet deadlines; demonstrated successful experience in a team environment; and a commitment to life-long learning. We seek candidates who are able to demonstrate experience and ability to advance Outreach’s diversity initiative. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate would have a solid background and understanding of PHP and SQL. Experience working with content management systems, especially Drupal or WordPress, is a plus, but we are willing to train and be patient with a person who has the right background and a willingness to learn and be part of a talented and supportive team of developers. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
