Internship credit may be a possibility. Preference is given to a student that is looking for a full, academic year position. The Marketing Intern provides a wide variety of opportunities for students to learn and master different types of marketing and promotions. Skills needed: Experience with Word PowerPoint, Publisher and MAC InDesign. Strong written and verbal communications skills, public speaking skills. Must be professional, flexible, and detail oriented and able to work with diverse populations. Daily Marketing Duties: Responsible for weekly Toilet Paper publication; design and disbursement; including gathering all relevant data to be publicized. The position also works with SEAL social media channel to assist in the advertising of events to engage students. Creating jpg formatted flyers for campus TV monitors, training/working with new student organizations on the use of marketing resources on the Get Connected site. Position works closely with Program Intern and assists with event planning including programs that Student Engagement and Leadership hosts; attend meetings and participate in the overall operations of events. Assist with the Student Affairs Lecture series promotion and event management. Additional Duties: Serve as additional coverage at the Lares Information Desk, Intersection, and other spaces as needed. Assist in compiling evaluations and data on Student Engagement and Leadership programs and work with social media. To fulfill the Corporate Communication internship requirement, students should be at least 6th semester standing. Must have completed a 400 level course. It is recommended that at least 1 Corporate Communication course be completed prior to the internship, (such as CC 401, 402 or 403W), but it is not a requirement. The internship requires completion of at least 200 hours during the semester. The internship needs to have a strong element of writing. The writing tasks can vary according to the position, but students need to submit a portfolio of writing samples as a major part of their grade.
