Description

Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine, based in Hershey, PA, is committed to implementing programs that will increase the available population of diverse medical professionals that pursue their medical education at the Penn State College of Medicine, and ultimately pursue careers in medicine. The Program Director for Diversity Pipeline Programs, within the Office for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, is the lead professional for working with school districts, colleges and universities, and current medical students and physicians, to design and implement measurable outreach/pipeline programs for diverse kindergarten through undergraduate senior students who are interested in health professions, particularly careers in medicine. This position also partners with the Director of Diversity Pipeline Programs and Outreach to identify and pursue funding opportunities to support the implementation of diverse pipeline programs. This position will develop and implement strategies for increasing the number and participation rates of diverse k-12 and undergraduate pipeline programs, initiate and sustain collaborations with Penn State Health departments, school districts, and community entities that will support the growth of the diversity pipeline programs, collaborate with educators to design age appropriate medical education awareness programs, and implement a pipeline tracking program system to assist with longitudinal studies to determine the success of the pipeline programs. The Program Director position provides an opportunity to make an impact on diverse populations potentially interested in careers in medicine. Because of the populations served by the programs, applicants who are bilingual (particularly in Spanish), will be considered preferred candidates.
