Penn State Health is seeking an experienced Education Strategy and Planning professional who would serve as the organization’s director for diversity and inclusion programs within the Office for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. This position will partner with other individuals, departments and external organizations to execute the organization’s diversity/inclusion initiatives. This will include developing actionable strategies to implement and scale organizational diversity initiatives across a large multi-functional organization, recommending and implementing “best practices” based on what is learned from submitting best employer applications, and reporting key performance indicators for the diversity/inclusion initiatives, implementing organizational diversity/inclusion training programs for students and employees, providing leadership to diverse employee resource groups and diverse student groups to advance the organization’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, develop a diversity communication strategy for the organization, and support the recruitment of diverse students through measurable diversity recruitment events. This role requires the ability to be a thought leader, to customize solutions to meet the organization’s diversity strategic efforts, and the ability to translate strategies or prior practices into practical and actionable solutions. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Master’s degree in social justice, post-secondary education, sociology, public administration, human resources management or related field is preferred. Additional experience advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in a complex organization is also preferred.
