The Penn State Stuckeman School is seeking a student communications intern to fill a part-time, writing intensive wage payroll position for fall 2019 that will support the School`s Marketing and Communications Office. The student will be asked to work approximately 10 hours per week, which may include some evening and weekend hours. Responsibilities will include researching and writing feature stories and news releases, as well as developing original and compelling social media content. The communications intern reports to the School`s Director of Marketing and Communications. The ideal candidate should have strong writing, reporting, and interviewing skills and a solid background in social media content creation. Applicants must be dependable, flexible, and organized; possess solid oral communications skills; and demonstrate a strong attention to detail. The position is open to rising juniors and seniors, as well as graduate students, majoring in journalism, public relations, or related field. Applicants must have, at the very least, successfully completed the writing course COMM 260W. Courses in advanced writing and editing desirable. Candidates who are contacted for an interview should be prepared to submit recent samples of their work.
