The Media Commons Support Staff provides technical support to students who are creating multimedia-based projects for their courses at Penn State Berks. The Media Commons is located in the Thun Library. This position is expected to work 10 hours per week during the fall and spring academic semesters. A fixed schedule of standard weekly hours between 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. is scheduled around the student employee’s course schedule. The successful applicant will have experience filming and editing videos with iMovie (or equivalent general video editing background), experience editing audio files with GarageBand, and general Mac knowledge. Experience with other video editing programs (Final Cut, Premiere) is helpful. Exceptional candidates who have no video experience but are willing to learn will be considered. Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively convey technical procedures to other students are extremely important to success with this job. Candidates must be extremely reliable, able to work independently, and willing to take on related duties as assigned. This job opportunity is available only to students enrolled at Penn State Berks. The position begins during Fall 2019 semester with potential to continue in Spring 2020 and beyond. Preference will be given to students who will be studying at Berks for several years. This position reports to the Media Commons Coordinator at Penn State Berks.
