Description

The Administrative Support Assistant supports the general administrative functions of a wide variety of academic or administrative units including answering phones, greeting/referring/assisting visitors, customers, staff, or others, preparing documents and reports, compiling records, scheduling meetings, organizing and maintaining information, coordinating calendars, analyzing data including budgetary expenditures, website updates, and providing general office support. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented so that they can gather and compile information; draft reports; and prepare and process various financial forms and materials. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position typically requires proficiency with Microsoft Office, and a willingness to learn new applications. Requires excellent customer service, written and oral communications, and project and time management skills. Occasional evening/weekend work, as well as trips to the Penn State Wilkes-Barre campus and University Park, are required. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding. This is a 75% full-time equivalency (FTE) job. Will work 30 hours per week.
