Description

The Sustainability Institute, in partnership with the State College Borough, seeks to hire an Intern to develop a mobile app for a virtual arboretum that helps residents and visitors explore the many species of trees in the borough. The Intern will research similar existing apps and new specialized developments, applications or protocols that would provide an engaging user experience that is easy to use and attractive to a variety of audiences. The ideal candidate has prior experience developing mobile apps for android and iOS platforms, knowledge of appropriate programming languages, and strong GIS skills. The intern will be tasked with supporting the entire app lifecycle (concept, design, write code, test, release and support) in order to produce a functional mobile application. The internship will begin in summer 2019 and may continue in the fall 2019 semester. Applicants should submit a cover letter and resume via the Penn State Jobs website.
