Description

Penn State Student Affairs is seeking a Compliance Coordinator in the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Compliance (OFSC). Reporting to the OFSC Senior Compliance Coordinator, this position will work with the OFSC team and the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life (OFSL) to help build a model social fraternity and sorority community at the University. Responsibilities include, but are not limited, training and educating the fraternity and sorority community about risk management and reduction; working with individual chapters to aid in the development of risk management plans; partnering with OFSL staff members to coach assigned chapters in successful practices; reviewing and evaluating social event registrations; collaborating with the staff in OFSL to deliver educational programs; monitoring the social events of fraternities and sororities, including participating in a shared, rotating schedule to spot-check events and chapter facilities; and helping organizations to develop relationships with neighborhood associations, long-term residents, and Borough of State College officials. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful candidates should have a proven record of collaborating and communicating with students, an understanding of risk management issues in the Greek community, a commitment to diversity and inclusion, and a record of successful collaboration involving multiple constituencies. Candidates must demonstrate effective communication skills; the ability to balance holding students accountable with developing positive, trusting relationships; the ability to resolve conflicts; and strong interpersonal skills. Must be willing to work nights and weekends (as part of the shared, rotating spot-checking, approximately one week a month). This is a one-year, fixed-term renewable appointment. This is an 83.3% full-time equivalency (FTE) job. Months off are June and July. Full Penn State benefits included.
