Description

The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life is seeking a leader for a newly created Associate Director position. The position will help to lead a multifaceted fraternity and sorority community and specifically oversee the office’s chapters and council advising program and supervise three Assistant Directors. Reporting to the Director, the Associate Director will act as Director in their absence to build a model fraternity and sorority community. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supervising professional and graduate assistants; managing technology and decision-making data programs; serving as liaison to the Office of Student Conduct and Office of Fraternity and Sorority Compliance; aiding the Director in ongoing strategic planning; and executing the office’s mission. The incumbent will be a mentor for entry to mid-level student affairs professionals and work with sensitive and crisis communication related to student and chapter conduct incidents and issues. Moreover, the professional must be able to construct sound professional practice to create values-based chapter operations. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher or higher plus five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful candidates must have a demonstrated record of supervision, professional communication expertise, and ability to collaborate with partners both internal and external to the University. They must also demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and a commitment to diversity and inclusion. This is a fixed term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
