The School of Visual Arts at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar in Art Education to begin August 1, 2019. This is a one-year (non-tenure track) position with excellent possibility of a second year based on funding and performance. The successful candidate will teach at least one undergraduate course per semester, propose and conduct a research project, assist with art education initiatives (such as professional development for k-12 teachers, high school art camp, Saturday Art School), and integrate themselves within the scholarly culture of art education scholarship in the School of Visual Arts. The successful candidate should have a strong background in art education complimented by a specific area of research emphasis, and a demonstrated record of scholarly collaborations, publications, and/or conference presentations. The successful candidate will be expected to interact and collaborate with the other Art Education faculty members and students (undergraduate and graduate). Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in Art Education or a related field within the last two years. To be considered for this position, applicants must provide: (1) a cover letter detailing their qualifications for the position, (2) an updated CV, (3) examples of three recent publications and/or creative accomplishments, (4) a statement describing the research they intend to conduct, and (5) contact information for three references.
