Description

The Morgan Academic Center at Penn State University is accepting applications for two positions of Academic Support Assistant (ASA). These positions, designed to provide an opportunity for a post-baccalaureate individual to gain experience in the field of academic support for student-athletes, are twelve-month commitments with opportunities for renewal. These positions are limited to a maximum of (25) hours per week, which includes regular daytime, evening, and weekend hours. Responsibilities include assisting football academic support staff with monitoring individual student-athlete academic progress and attendance, facilitating and monitoring a study hall program, serving as a teaching assistant for the student-athlete first-year seminar course, and assisting full-time academic support staff with other duties as needed. Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree or above, demonstrate strong communication skills, organizational skills, professionalism, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Experience in a Division I athletic-academic support environment is preferred, as well as, an interest in pursuing graduate level studies.
