Description

With the assistance of the Director of Academic Affairs and Director of Enrollment Management, this position develops and implements a comprehensive recruitment and yield plan for multicultural students, focusing on historically underrepresented students. The coordinator seeks to create a diverse student body through access, equity, engagement, inclusion and exposure to Penn State opportunities and resources. The recruitment plan will extend beyond enrollment into the collegiate experience. The candidate will serve as a liaison to other campus offices, partner with diverse Lehigh Valley community agencies, and travel regionally to meet future Penn Staters. The Coordinator of Student Success will focus on three primary areas: Educational Opportunity Program (EOP/CSP); PaSSS (Pathway to Success: Summer Start (PaSSS) Program; Grant-funded initiatives focused on student success. This position enhances existing enrollment goals and develops new initiatives supporting recruitment, supporting the need for community engagement, multicultural student support, diversity, and inclusion. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other campus departments to support underrepresented students and inclusive excellence, through recruitment efforts and student engagement initiatives. Collaboration extends to faculty, staff, students and community partners. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher in an education or social science related discipline or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
