Information Technology in the College of the Liberal Arts is looking for a knowledgeable Information Security Risk Analyst to work on security operations. Primary duties include: creating a positive and productive partnership between the Liberal Arts community and IT around security initiatives; establishing and managing procedures and processes to be compliant with Penn State security policies and standards; performing compliance assessments to determine deviations from approved configurations, policies and standards; collaborating with stakeholders to determine and coordinate the implementation of the best possible IT solutions to meet security guidelines and mitigate all security vulnerabilities. Proactively explore ways to minimize risk and ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the College’s sensitive information and data. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Preferred skills include research experience, understanding of data categorization and compliance, understanding of the grant process and understanding of security best practices (Penn State Policies AD95 and AD96). The chosen candidate must be an excellent faculty advocate and possess strong interpersonal skills; provide a high level of verbal and written communication, customer service and specialized support. Possess and apply advanced specialized and security knowledge of hardware, software tools, operating systems, and security best practices for infrastructure and data. Possess a strong understanding of risk management and methodologies; have the ability to creatively manage competing priorities to meet deadlines; effective interpersonal and communication skills for all audiences; excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a team environment.
