The EIT Infrastructure Division is looking for an amazing Network Systems Specialist to join the Enterprise Networks and Communication Services (ENCS) Data Center Team. This person will need to understand how to collaborate and engender great customer service. The person is responsible to the Manager of Data Center Networking for the administration and ensuring proper operation of the University's Data Center Networks. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, and correcting network troubles and performance issues; analyzing network traffic; installing new network services; and assisting in development\acquiring of network management tools. This position interfaces with equipment and circuit vendors as well as University faculty, staff and students. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred. A minimum of four years of work-related background with enterprise LANs, authentication methods, VLANs, Spanning Tree, and Layer 3 switching preferred. Experience with Brocade VDX/Juniper product line is desired. Must have moderate knowledge of data manipulation via structured queries and regular expressions. Experience with network monitoring applications is required. Experience with Switching fabrics and VXLAN preferred. Must be detail oriented, well organized, self-starter with the ability to work with diverse teams in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Industry standard network certifications preferred. Must have strong communication and customer relation skills. Requires the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation. On-call coverage and overnight travel is required. Application review will begin April 12, 2019.
