Description

Consult with Chef concerning menus, recipes, quantities, left-over usages, etc. Monitor the work of subordinates in the main kitchen in the absence of the Chef. Assist Chef with preparation of soups, gravys, roasts and sauces. Prepare and broil steaks, lamb chops and other broiled foods served in the Nittany Lion Inn. Be responsible for the proper use and storage of left-over foods. Assist in the preparation of special meals for parties and banquets. Write and coordinate the daily menus for the main dining room in the absence of the Chef. Carve beef and other meats for special buffets and banquets. Maintain a clean work area and ensure general cleanliness of utensils and equipment. Perform other duties related or similar to the type described. Job Requirements: Requires the use of shop mathematics together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, various types of adjustable measuring instruments and the training generally applicable in a particular or specialized occupation.
