Description

Penn State Berks is searching for an adjunct faculty position in the Occupational Therapy (OT) Assistant program. The adjunct will teach OT 107 - Assistive Technology and Methods of Adaptation. This course applies concepts of adaptation when a client`s ability to engage in life occupations is limited. The focus is on the whole person, not just the illness or disability, and how OT can enable individuals to live well and use AT and adaptive techniques to assist them in completing the occupations that are most valuable to them. This is a three-credit course in the Fall semester and is a combination of lecture and labs. It is held one day a week. The applicant chosen to teach OT 107 will also be strongly considered for teaching OT 206 in Spring 2020 (a course focusing on OT and physical disabilities). A Master`s degree is preferred but a Bachelor’s degree will be considered. Current licensure and experience working as an occupational therapy assistant is preferred but not required. Three or more years of clinical experience are required. A current license or eligibility to obtain a license to practice occupational therapy in PA is required. Applications must be submitted electronically and include: a letter of application and Curriculum Vitae that includes three professional references. Please include in your letter of application the course(s) to which you are applying. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until both positions are filled.
