Specifically, this scholar will examine how sustainability interventions in Africa have thrived or failed, develop integrated models to describe these systems, and train others how to use the resulting principles to guide the development of sustainable communities. The position includes extensive data analytics, local and international field work, systems modeling, and the preparation of high-quality publications and proposals. Preferred Qualifications include: Ph.D. in a sustainability-related field (ex., Agricultural Economics; Agricultural Engineering; Demography; Environmental Engineering/Science; Natural Resource Management; Sociology; etc.); experience in data analytics and systems modeling related to food-energy-water nexus issues; international experience with community engagement in developing regions; understanding of community building, resilience, and rural poverty issues; successful track record in publishing and proposal/grant writing; excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. The position may begin as early as May 2019, with a latest possible start date July 1st, 2019. This is a one-year appointment with potential for renewal. To apply, submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and a list of three personal references online through https://psu.jobs.
