Over the past decade the center has undertaken and fostered nearly three dozen funded projects in the areas of courts and sentencing, corrections, substance abuse research and policy and evaluation. The center has generated millions of dollars in extramural support for a wide range of high profile and high impact criminal justice research projects. Duties of this position include developing meeting agendas and schedules, researching and writing reports and newsletters, developing, controlling, and maintaining accountability of center and grant proposal budgets, overseeing unit files, approving and processing payroll activities of student researchers, assisting in travel planning and budgeting, collecting and compiling data for annual and periodic reports, and interviewing, training, and supporting staff and student personnel. The Administrative Support Assistant plays an important role in assisting with the preparation of grant proposals to external funders and with the management of funded projects. This position also works directly with members of the center’s Advisory Board, consisting of alumni, agency partners, and academics, to plan and implement annual meetings.
