This position is responsible for providing staff support to the Director of the Multicultural Resource Center and counseling staff. Duties include: draft correspondence and meeting minutes, maintain files, and process mail; maintain office calendars and schedule meetings and student appointments; answer the telephone, greet visitors, and provide information or referral as appropriate. Hire, train, and supervise student employees and process payroll; assist in preparing, gathering, and compiling data for various reports. Organize and provide oversight of all arrangements and notification for MRC special events such as the annual awards reception. Maintain and monitor budgets to include tracking expenditures, assisting with budget projections and preparing financial reports/spreadsheets. Assist with website maintenance and social media interactions. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in working with diverse populations is highly desirable. Working knowledge of University business systems (IBIS, eBuy, ERS), as well as knowledge and use of Web and social networking technologies is preferred. The successful candidate must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service, technology, organizational, and self-management skills. Must also possess sound judgment and excellent critical thinking skills. Must be energetic, friendly, creative, team-oriented, flexible, and student-centered. The successful candidate will regularly communicate with students, faculty, staff, administrators and other stakeholders; therefore, he/she should portray a professional and positive image. The individual must have strong writing skills in the English language and a keen ability to edit and proofread material. The successful candidate must possess a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. Proficiency in MS Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is required.
