Penn State Hazleton invites applications for a faculty position, Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor (rank commensurate with qualifications) of Health Policy Administration (fixed-term multi-year, 36 weeks) to begin August 2019, or as negotiated. Responsibilities: Penn State Hazleton and Penn State Schuylkill are starting a new baccalaureate program in Health Policy and Administration. We are hiring two candidates, one faculty member at each of the campuses. The successful candidate(s) will work collaboratively with faculty at both campuses to deliver a portion of the curriculum to multiple campuses using a variety of distance delivery methods. For information about both campuses, visit and Primary responsibilities will include: Teach four courses (12 credits) each semester. Courses will include general health policy and administration classes with upper level specialty courses within the field. Teaching assignments may require teaching day, evening and/or Saturday classes as needed. Participate in course, curriculum, and program development. Advise students and provide career guidance. Contribute to the intellectual and social life of the campus, its community engagement mission, and the local community. Participate in campus, university, and community service activities. Engage in activities to stay current in the discipline. Qualifications: Master’s degree or doctorate in health policy and administration or related field required. Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment, engagement with fellow faculty members in ways that contribute to a scholarly community on campus, active leadership in campus life, and engagement in the community through outreach activities and research that address regional needs are required. Interest in active and collaborative learning, the use of instructional technology, and hybrid and online teaching is an advantage. Prior college-level and online teaching experience preferred. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important. The coursework for the first two years of more than 275 Penn State baccalaureate majors are offered at both campuses. Penn State Hazleton offers 12 baccalaureate degrees, including a B.S. in Health Policy and Administration (starting in fall 2019), and 5 associate degrees. Penn State Schuylkill offers 10 baccalaureate degrees, including a B.S. in Health Policy and Administration (starting in fall 2019), and 4 associate degrees.
