A Postdoctoral Scholar position is immediately available in the lab of Ping He, MD, PhD at the Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Cellular and Molecular Physiology. The Postdoc will participate in NIH-funded research projects to investigate the mechanisms involved in the regulation of endothelial barrier function and vascular wall structural changes under disease conditions, with focus on blood/vascular wall interface and translational therapeutic potentials. The experimental approaches include, but are not limited to, single vessel perfusion in intact microvessels, animal surgery, large vessel dissection, immunostaining, fluorescence microscopy and electron microscopy, as well as flow cytometry analysis of microvesicles using both animal and human blood samples. An MD or a PhD in Physiology or Biomedical sciences is required. Highly motivated individuals who have passion for sciences, and capable to learn new techniques quickly and develop new approaches independently are encouraged to apply. Experiences in flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy, and animal surgery are preferred.
