The Four Diamonds Interns will coordinate the Four Diamonds Tour Program, work with the Mini-THON team and support the Communications Manager with various projects. Their responsibilities may include acting as a liaison between Four Diamonds, Penn State Children’s Hospital, the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON), and Mini-THON® schools. These positions will also work with the Mini-THON® team to create resources and content that will assist the team and schools in their fundraising, event planning, and awareness efforts. The interns will also support the Four Diamonds Communications Manager by helping to raise awareness of the organization through marketing, social media, communications and storytelling. The interns will also support the Four Diamonds team with assigned projects in the development office. This hourly paid position is based in the Four Diamonds office at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, with a start date of June 1, 2019 and running through May 2020. Responsibilities include: Coordinate the Four Diamonds Tour Program which offers tours of Penn State Children’s Hospital to current THON, Mini-THON® participants; coordinate tour schedule, including room rental, tour speakers and Four Diamonds families; assist in data entry and analysis for the Mini-THON® program; assist with the Four Diamonds online giving platform; create content that will assist Mini-THON® schools in fundraising, awareness, and event planning; help promote Four Diamonds campaigns and events, including THONTM, Mini-THON®, community fundraisers and corporate partnerships; Create and design original text/stories, graphics, images and videos to share via social media, marketing collateral, presentations, etc., to help build meaningful connections, raise awareness of Four Diamonds and engage the community; develop social media editorial calendars and maintain posting schedules; monitor for relevant news; engage with followers; help compile quarterly reports to analyze social media engagement; identify opportunities for growth; assist with e-communications and website updates/enhancements; serve as an ambassador of Four Diamonds and Penn State Children’s Hospital at Four Diamonds sponsored events. To be considered for this internship, the following criteria must be met: Candidate must be available Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., though that may fluctuate based on time-specific needs; candidate must be responsible, accommodating, flexible, warm and hospitable with excellent communication skills, and a strong attention to detail; candidate must respect confidentiality and adhere to all Four Diamonds and Penn State Hershey Medical Center policies; minimum GPA 3.0.
