Description

The Penn State College of Engineering is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, creative, and versatile IT professional to provide consultative and specialized assistance in our department of Architectural Engineering. This will include faculty, staff, and students in administrative, instruction, and research endeavors. Duties include providing a wide variety of high-level service to end users, hardware/software lifecycle management, student lab management, identification of needs and requirements, assessment of project feasibility, preparation of business cases, development of requests for proposals, evaluation of vendor products, recommendation of products for selection, delivery of custom systems and solutions, coordination of the utilization of College, University, and external IT services, coordination of efforts with College IT Director and staff, serving on departmental and College-level IT committees and working groups, and providing input to the departmental strategic planning process. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Qualifications include: comprehensive skills in managing Windows 10 desktops in a Microsoft Active Directory environment, experience with AD Group Policies, competence in the management of MacOS and Linux systems, and a history of excellent customer service. Experience using KACE for client management and software deployment is helpful. Also required are excellent organization, documentation, interpersonal communication, collaboration, training, and strategic planning skills.
