Description

We are seeking qualified students or recent graduates to apply to be an Avian Education Intern at The Arboretum at Penn State. This is a paid ($13.00/hour) half-time position starting in May - August 2019. During the summer season, the intern will work 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Children’s Garden. The successful candidate will work with our Avian Educator to deliver programs and to develop curricular materials. Additional duties will include assisting in leading bird walks for the public and assisting at the Arboretum bird banding station. Qualifications – Must have a basic understanding of avian ecology and be able to identify common Pennsylvania birds by sight and sound. Course work and/or experience in outreach education preferred.
