We are searching for 2 orthopaedic research technicians. This is an ideal job opportunity for graduating college students with either a biology or engineering background who are interested in a career in medicine, specifically Orthopaedics. The year includes clinical and laboratory research experience and mentoring within the Penn State Orthopaedic Department at Hershey Medical Center. Occupational duties include assisting the various divisions within the orthopaedic department in data collection, conducting clinical and laboratory research experiments, performing data synthesis, manuscript writing, and clinical shadowing. The ultimate goal is publication of the research and for the applicant to gain a meaningful clinical experience in preparation for medical school. The employee will be in contact with human subjects. Interaction with human subjects will be limited to observation in the clinical setting and contacting patients as part of clinical studies and follow up Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed term appointment funded one year from date of hire with the possibility of refunding.
