Description

The Monitoring and Messaging Team in Infrastructure, a unit of Enterprise IT, is looking for a highly motivated Programmer/Analyst with a passion for providing professional customer service and operational excellence. The position responsibilities include the ensuring proper operation, configuration, development, and administration of applications and program code in support of the University’s monitoring systems. Note: The 7x24x365 availability of campus technology services may require work outside regular work hours to solve operational problems or ensure proper functioning of services. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will have knowledge and/or experience with scripting and programming languages; utilize security best practices; test and debug applications, resolve data/application performance issues; maintain documentation; collaborate with colleagues across IT to gather requirements, test and resolve applications and tooling, perform upgrades and feature enhancements, and foster innovation. The required knowledge, skills and behaviors for this position include: strong verbal and written communication skills, including documentation for teams, knowledge base, and training; proactive in providing superior customer service to groups that depend on these systems; high attention to detail; have a strong desire to analyze/diagnose problems, be flexible, and maintain critical thinking abilities under pressure; possess strong time-management and organizational skills; have experience working with scripts and programming languages and ability to learn new skills quickly.
