The Office of the Corporate Controller is seeking a business/finance professional with a strong background in budget and fiscal management and analysis to fill a Financial Officer 3 position. This position reports to the Associate Director for Finance Officers and is part of the Finance and Business financial support team and a member of the Financial Officers Organization. This particular role will be assigned to provide support for Auxiliary and Business Services, Office of Physical Plant and Commonwealth Operations. This position will provide strategic planning, financial analysis and reporting to the individual business units, the person filling this role should be able to demonstrate good financial stewardship and is accountable for sound financial management of the assigned units. The Financial Officer will assist with multi-fund budgets, expenditure control and timely monitoring for the assigned areas. The individual in this role is expected to interpret and enforce University policy and procedures, review budget status in regular meetings with departmental administrators, and recommend budgetary action as needed to ensure attainment of strategic goals. This job will also assist with year-end closing procedures, the general salary increase process, operational audits, and other projects as assigned, for all assigned areas. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge in financial and budget management, analysis and forecasting, and strategic planning. Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet, database applications, and Business Intelligence tools for creating and developing customized reporting and analysis is highly desired. The successful candidate will provide expertise and training to staff on the use of these tools. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven track record of success as a member of a professional team are highly desired.
