The Supply Chain and Information Systems Department is seeking both graduates and undergraduates to serve as Teaching Assistants for the undergraduate supply chain courses in the Fall 2019/Spring 2020 academic year. The courses cover a range of topics from introductory supply chain management to upper level courses such as demand fulfillment and design and management of supply chains. Undergraduate Teaching Assistants may assist in the grading of exams (under the supervision of a graduate student or professor), quizzes, and homework. Graduate students may grade and review the grading of undergraduate teaching assistants. Teaching Assistants may lead review sessions, proctor exams, attend evening labs, develop assignments or hold office hours. Additional responsibilities may include preparing teaching materials or grading writing assignments. Undergraduate teaching assistants are required to have successfully passed the course(s) they would be assisting. A math or statistics background, and an interest in supply chain management or industrial engineering is desirable. Excellent interpersonal skills and writing skills, effective time management, along with the ability to communicate effectively with undergraduate students in a development fashion is recommended. Additional qualifications such as MS Office skills, a knowledge of Penn State library system`s databases, and the ability to conduct background research on supply chain domain as needed are beneficial.
