Penn State Brandywine, located in Media, PA, seeks a part time (non-tenure) Instructor for Communication Arts and Sciences, on Tuesdays and Thursday’s at 9:05 a.m. - 10:20 a.m., for the 2019 fall semester. Candidates should have expertise in the following areas: Group Communication Theory and Research. The CAS 450W is an advanced level course where students will study a wide range of theories and methods addressing decision-making and problem-solving aspects of group communication. By the end of this course, students will be able to: Recognize common themes of group dynamics; define theories and methods associated with group communication; solve problems effectively and efficiently in a group setting; adequately teach sections of the course while working in a small group; and develop a well written-research paper that analyzes the dynamics of group communication. The instructor for this course will work with the Communication Arts and Sciences Program Coordinator to help create a syllabus, outline the course reading materials, and generate assignments. Requirements for this position include: M.A. or Ph.D. in Communication Arts and Sciences (or related field); at least 3 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level; teaching experience in small group communication.
