Description

The Methodology Center, a research center in the College of Health and Human Development, is hiring a full-time Multimedia Specialist to be a part of the Dissemination, Software, and Technology (DST) Core of the Center for Complex Data to Knowledge in Drug Abuse and HIV Behavioral Science funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse. This position will work closely with the Center’s Principal Investigators and the DST Core Director to manage the Center’s websites and related resources based on the strategic objectives of the Center. Primary job duties include developing and managing all Center websites using Wordpress; monitoring and compiling web analytics; planning, coordinating, and implementing changes to the website; managing search engine optimization for all Center websites; assisting the Center’s Technical Communications Specialist with the production and dissemination of multimedia products such as podcasts and instructional videos; and exploring new ways to use the web to advance the Center’s scientific mission. Other job duties include developing structures for online courses within a learning management system; providing occasional specialized support to Center faculty and staff; and coordinating hardware and software logistics with the Information Systems and Services (ISS) unit of the College of Health and Human Development. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency and experience with the following are highly desirable: web design; creation of online course structures within a learning management system; and podcast recording and editing. Competencies critical to success include proficiency and experience with the following: Wordpress; HTML and CSS; web accessibility; and current best practices in web development and web standards. Strong project management and time management skills, ability to work independently, commitment to teamwork, and excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills are required. The candidate must have a strong commitment to and record of successfully meeting goals and deadlines. This is a fixed-term appointment for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
