Description

The Work Control Division with the Office of Physical Plant (OPP) is seeking applicants for the position of Utility Shutdown Coordinator (Facility Specialist 1-2). This position will be responsible for working with building occupants and OPP colleagues, to coordinate Utility Shutdowns, System Disruptions, and Fire System Tests, associated with building maintenance or regulatory needs. This position will be accountable for, but not limited to the following: Understand the intended use of facilities to develop a keen sense of awareness about how shutdowns affect the users on campus. Alert Facility Coordinators and other stakeholders about interruptions due to emergency, planned and emerging shutdowns by OPP or outside contractors. Collaborate to develop and maintain a list of key customer representatives who take responsibility for approving and handling shutdowns in their area. Maintain a procedure manual of how to handle shutdowns for Shutdown Office, Work reception and OPP employees whom request shutdowns. Perform training for Shutdown Request (SDR) track in Maximo for OPP employees. Project lead to maintain the SDR track in Maximo by working with the OPP FAM team to make upgrades to the SDR Track functionality to match the needs of the SDR office. Assist/back up Scheduling team with performing scheduling duties as needed. This job will be filled as a level 1, or level 2, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 1. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of maintenance and construction scheduling processes, building systems, and the business function of the buildings. Excellent customer service, organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as the ability to multitask are required. Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office and have experience using customized databases.
